Steven Olson, PhD (General Manager/Owner) is owner and founder of EthioGuzo. In 2003 after exploring the fascinating country of Ethiopia he decided to apply his professional background in promoting sustainable ecotourism here. He has an education in the social dimensions of natural resource conservation and development and is a naturalist and social-anthropologist at heart. His professional background gives him the edge required to promote conservation and community development through sustainable ecotourism. Steven spent most of his childhood and high school years in Cameroon and Nigeria and has worked and traveled extensively in West and the Horn of Africa. He occasionally leads some of EthioGuzo's tours.  

Eyerusalem Terefe Diro (Assistant Manager) born and raised in Addis Ababa has an education in secretarial services/sciences and a background and passion for the arts. Eyerusalem handles the work behind the scenes that keep our tours running so smoothly.

Assefa Argachew (Assistant Tour Operator) takes care of your reservations and bookings.

Our tour leaders carry certificates from a recognized tourism institute and EthioGuzo provides further training in first aid, safety and sustainable tourism methods. We work mostly with tour leaders that are proficient in English, French and German but can organize guides for other languages.

Our drivers have professional drivers' training and are specialized for the specific vehicule they drive. EthioGuzo provides them with further training in safety and sustainable tourism methods. They speak an adequate level of English for ample communication.
